Deep Breaths

Hi everyone! Life has been….. nitty-gritty lately. Full. Full of wonderful blessings, like Talia joining our family. Full of adventures, like getting ready to go to Papua New Guinea! For Jeniffer, life has been full of long mothering hours as her husband has worked multiple jobs and she has been home with two sweet – and busy – girls. Faith’s family has dealt with several months of various sicknesses, vehicle troubles, computer issues, and more. Michal spent the last part of her second pregnancy dealing with possible early labor and bedrest, and just welcomed her second little one into the world. Jeniffer and I spent some time talking today and decided that we are all knee-deep in mothering and life, and realized we need to take some “deep breaths.”

Deep Breath One: The Breastfeeding Blog Hop

Breastfeeeding Blog Hop

Jeniffer and I have been hosting the Breastfeeding Blog Hop with Sarah from Life as Wife, Mummy, and Nurse for almost a year now. All three of us have been linking up to the Hop regularly for much longer than that! It has been so great participating in the Hop each week, sharing our passion for breastfeeding with so many other wonderful bloggers and readers.

Over the last several months the #bfbloghop has started to suffer. We’ve all been pulled in different directions. It’s been harder to come up with new topics. Breastfeeding is full of many different experiences, but there still may be a limit to the amount of different topics that can be covered, at least by the same people. We’ve noticed the number of bloggers participating has dropped quite a bit, and that may very well be due to our limited extra time and energy to pour into commenting on posts and helping get the word out the way we had hoped to through Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

We all feel that we are at the place where we are ready to close this chapter. I know for myself, I will always be passionate about breastfeeding! But the time for blogging about it each week is over, at least for us. If there are any of you bloggers reading this who would like to pick up the torch, please send us an e-mail and let us know!

If you are in need of some breastfeeding encouragement, information, humor, or just need to remember you aren’t in this alone, please check out all the wonderful topics and posts from the last few years in the archives here and here, at The Slacker Mom, and Life with Levi.

Deep Breath Two: A Blogging “Time Out”

summer

Like I said above, things have been a bit crazy for all of us. We haven’t been blogging the way we planned to when we shared back in November about our changing visions. We decided that this month is going to be a blogging “time out.” We won’t be posting at all for now. We are going to take this time to enjoy our families, rest our brains a bit, and reflect on what we need to do with the little space we’ve created here. Hopefully there will be lots of time to kick our shoes off and enjoy the summer!

Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read, comment, encourage, and get to know us over the last two years!
