I was really excited about this week’s topic, even though I have written similar posts before. Especially since the days of nursing my current nursling are drawing to a close. We’re completely night weaned (finally!), and down to just nursing at naps and bed time…. And not always then. However, I came down with a nasty cold yesterday, which has progressed to all over body aches today. Nehemiah, my two year old, is showing symptoms too, and is just needing lots of mommy cuddles. We’ve been camped out on the couch most of the day, but I did want to drag myself over here to the computer long enough to link up my old posts on this subject.
I wrote this post for World Breastfeeding Week in 2011, and listed 10 reasons that I love breastfeeding. Reading back over that post made me smile, body aches and all. I think number 2 is the one I like best from that list!
In April of last year, the Hop discussed the good parts of breastfeeding, and I shared what my favorite part of breastfeeding is, especially when it comes to toddlers. In the final days of my nursing relationship with Nehemiah, that post is even more relevant. The toddler wiggles are even more extreme now at 2, and so is the mommy frustration. But there’s nothing quite like the moment when he relaxes and we truly connect.
What do you love about breastfeeding? Does it change depending on the age of your nursling? If you’ve already weaned, what do you miss the most?
