Melissa shared a couple of weeks ago that we are changing directions here. Not in a bad way, but in a much-needed way. One that I hope will prove to be to your benefit as well as ours. What this really means for you is that we may post twice a week. Sometimes it will be just once, and there may be weeks where we don’t post at all, depending on what’s going on in our lives. Of course, that also means we’ll be sharing more on our Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram!
Because it’s the season of giving, I thought it would be fun to share something that I learned this week.
First, I found this awesome post on how to make your own chevron wallpaper for your iPhone. Then I had some fun between Paint and Gimp and came up with this.
I made the background according to the tutorial and used the Chocolate Box Decorative font for the wording. Perfect for Christmas-y wording! (Please click this link to Erika’s post if you aren’t sure how to download this to your phone.)
I like using Gimp because even though it has a pretty big learning curve, it’s free and does pretty much everything that Photoshop does. It’s also easy to find tutorials online, so if you hav time, you can easily make your own. I also downloaded a couple of free chevron backgrounds and added some pretty words and fonts to them, which takes a lot less time than trying to make your own from scratch. But if you’re crunched for time, here are a couple more that Erika has made up for Christmas.
Enjoy making your phone a happy place this holiday season!
