This week we are talking about World Breastfeeding Week (any breastfeeding-related post or one specifically about WBW)!
Welcome to the new home of the Breastfeeding Blog Hop! You can check out our Breastfeeding Blog Hop page to check out the archives from The Slacker Mom and Life With Levi. Soon I’ll be holding my second nursling, starting a brand new adventure in the world of breastfeeding. To celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and (hopefully!) Lily’s birth, I would like to share this poem that I wrote last fall along with a picture of Abby that still takes my breath away.
Remembering You snuggle close in the crook of my arm and latch, relax, and eat. I watch your eyes, as they drift slowly off. Milk-drunk, you drift to sleep. If I could hold you–this way–forever I’d not need Paradise. But tomorrow –and with it, an older you–I dare not try to fight. So I’ll snuggle you close, hold you a while longer. For just a little bit more. For the days are short when I can nurse and cuddle your sleeping form.
What are the things that you’ll remember most from the tiny infant days?
