So…I’m 36 weeks. Which means that in about a month, I’ll most likely have a newborn. And an 18 month old. The reality is starting to sink in somewhat, so there’s a whole new level of panic mode.
Movement:
There’s not much room in there anymore, but Lily is still kicking. Sometimes. She’s rotating from head down to breech still, but at least she’s moving! I’ve been doing the inversion technique found on Spinning Babies as well as sitting on an exercise ball when I can to encourage her to stay head down.
Symptoms:
With Abby becoming more and more clingy (I’m pretty sure she knows something is up), she’s still in bed with us for most of the night. Thankfully, it isn’t always against me! I’m still having some circulation issues in my legs at night, and now my sciatic nerve likes to act up a bit. Of course, I’m also starting to feel some pressure in my pelvis, even though Lily is still sitting high and I’m still closed. I’m also starting to get heartburn in the middle of the night, but thankfully baking soda clears that right up. As long as Abby is completely asleep, we’re good.
I’m also starting to feel super pregnant for the first time. I had thought I’d feel huge earlier on with the heat, but water and air conditioning are definitely helping combat the ickies.
Weight Gain:
I’ve gained about 32 pounds now, but I’m pretty sure most of it is water and baby. Okay, I actually have a butt now, too.
Staying away from sugar is getting harder and harder, but I am curbing my munchies appetite with peanut butter. Most days.
Cravings:
Sugar. Definitely sugar. And sometimes pizza.
Oh, I’m also loving ice cream. Towards the end of pregnancy, my dairy intolerance tends to fade away. I think this is the first time in years that I’ve actually enjoyed ice cream in the summer! Because of that, we don’t keep any in the house.
Things to Do:
Um, wash everything? Clothes, diapers, bassinet, Boppy, blankets…everything needs to be washed still. And set up. But since my baby shower is Sunday, I figure that I can get to that next week. I also need to start writing intros to the reviews I have coming up after Lily is born!
