Monday, Melissa shared her thoughts on this past year. One whole year of blogging on Sisters ‘N Cloth.
I have to say, it’s definitely been a year of growth, and I’m not talking about just stats and numbers. We’ve both had to work on parts of our natural personality in order for this blog to function. Melissa admitted to mellowing out some, and I’ve had to learn how to be organized, something I’m still working on.
I’ve also had to learn how to balance my introverted side with social media. After all, it’s supposed to be social. And, well, I’m more of a wall flower. Some days that comes out more than others, but it does balance out. Most of the time. Apparently I’m getting better, though, because I’ve been sent to Twitter jail at more than one party in the past few months.
There has been a lot of personal growth here. Some of that is from being a first time mom, but a lot of that has to do with the support that I’ve found here. Whether it’s a tweet, a Facebook post, or a blog post, I’ve learned that not having all the answers is a good thing. That what I want for my children is a good enough reason to be for or against something. That I’m not a perfect mom, but the fact that I try makes me a good one.
I look back a year ago, and I see so much growth since then. I also see that there’s so much more room for growth. For improvement. It’s the same with the blog, too.
I’m thankful for all of you who have stuck with us and for those of you who are just joining in. For the community that we have and the one we’re building. I can’t wait to see what next year brings…for all of us!
